Maldives

The eight wonder of the world

About the Maldives

The Maldives is one of the most iconic holiday destinations in the world. With its turquoise lagoons, white sand beaches and luxurious one-island, one-resort concept, it offers an experience that feels untouched, exclusive and effortlessly relaxing. Whether you are seeking romance, adventure or simply a peaceful escape from everyday life, the Maldives delivers beauty and hospitality in a way few places can match.

What sets the Maldives apart is its sense of space and privacy. Each resort sits on its own island, surrounded by crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life. Every stay feels intimate and tailored, whether you are waking up over the lagoon in an overwater villa or stepping onto the sand from your beachfront retreat. The tranquillity and natural beauty create a setting that instantly slows the pace and brings you into holiday mode.

The Maldives is not only stunning above the water. Beneath the surface lies some of the most colourful coral reefs in the world. Snorkelling, diving and marine encounters are part of the everyday experience, from swimming with turtles to watching dolphins dance at sunset. For those who prefer a gentler pace, world-class spas, private dining on the beach and peaceful sunrise views await.

The region’s hospitality is world renowned. Resorts combine warm Maldivian service with modern luxury, offering exceptional dining, personalised experiences and everything you need for a seamless stay. Whether you are planning a honeymoon, a family holiday or a romantic celebration, the Maldives is a destination that feels special from the moment you arrive.

We believe the Maldives has something for every traveller. With over a thousand islands and a wide variety of resorts, there is a perfect match for every style and budget. At Atoll Escapes, our role is to help you find it.

Georgraphy of the Maldives

The Maldives is an archipelago of around 1,190 coral islands grouped into 26 natural atolls, spread across approximately 90,000 km² of the Indian Ocean, with just about 298 km² of dry land.

Only around 200 islands are inhabited, making the Maldives one of the world’s most dispersed and uniquely beautiful nations.
